Join intriguing singer-songwriter Vanessa Lowe and her band, Bug Eyed Sprite, for a gala evening celebrating the release of her third album, 57 Suspect Words. A clinical psychologist-turned-songstress with a hunger to see the underneath of things, New York native Vanessa -- along with cohorts Ben Freelove on bass, Tobias Hawkins on percussion, and Kent Sparling on tiny instruments plus special guest Myles Boisen on electric guitar -- tantalizes the ears and boggles the mind with her beautiful and eerie songs. In Vanessa's own words, "The world of these songs is about standing very still and almost holding your breath: waiting and watching to see what's going to creep out at you and whether it will be good or bad. It's like blending into the bark of a tree, or stepping back into a dark alley as the dervish blows by." While Vanessa's previous album, Barnacles of Joy, received widespread college airplay and critical praise, her new songs feature more textured arrangements, with eerie atmospheric backgrounds, innovative percussion, bass, and eccentric electric guitar.
