San Francisco native, Noe Venable is a visionary storyteller with a vibrant imagination and a hypnotic voice. She sings off-beat, literate, rootsy songs in a language of vivid pictures and emotion, exploring with curiosity, compassion, and a theatrical flare the rich world of the lost and forgotten. Noe's lonely acoustic guitar, along with Alan Lin's classically trained violin and Todd Sickafoose's innovative bass, punctuate her vivid imagery with inventive musical textures, which ebb and flow around her riveting vocals, likened by Sam Hurwitt of the East Bay Express to "The cry of Little Red Riding Hood lost in the woods and leaving a crumb trail of broken wolves behind her." The trio recently released a new album, The World is Bound by Secret Knots.
