the west coast's leading western swing ensemble
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Come kick up your heels with Lost Weekend as the Freight's favorite Western swing band celebrates its 20th anniversary with its accustomed mix of all the essential ingredients: fabulous tunes, world-class ensemble playing and soloing, and spine-chilling vocals. West Coast successors to the pioneering 1930s and '40s bands like Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, who joined old-time country fiddle music with the rhythmic intensity and improvisational feel of big band swing jazz, Lost Weekend offers a version of this heady concoction so infectious, it probably ought to be illegal. Led by rhythm guitarist and vocalist Don Burnham, the all-star cowboy jazz band also features newly inducted Steel Guitar Hall-of-Famer Bobby Black, Paul Anastasio on fiddle, Melissa Collard on vocals, Mark Holzinger on guitar, Bing Nathan on bass, Jim Rothermel on clarinet and sax, John Brinck on drums, and Doug Harman on piano. Lost Weekend's most recent album is Harbor Lights and Cowboy Blues (Redoubtable Records).
