San Francisco Chamber Orchestra presents CLASSICAL AT THE FREIGHT
A Beethoven Birthday Bash

Monday, December 17, 2007
Chamber music to celebrate the master’s 237th birthday
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Classical at the Freight brings the Bay Area's best classical musicians to our stage for an hour of top-flight chamber music in an informal, friendly atmosphere. San Francisco Chamber Orchestra (SFCO) music director Benjamin Simon is your host; his goal is to un-stuffify and de-mystify classical music for the general music lover, sharing the joys and rewards of this timeless art with new audiences young and old.

Join Benjamin and friends tonight for a fun-filled birthday bash celebrating 237th anniversary of the master's birth, with an evening of chamber music from history's greatest composers, who once turned down a royal invitation to perform with the words "There are many queens, but only one Beethoven!"

Featured are principal players from the SFCO, with Tod Brody (flute), Robin Sharp (violin), Benjamin Simon (viola), and Michelle Djokic (cello). In addition to some seldom-heard chamber masterpieces, the festivities include birthday cake, door prizes, and a Beethoven look-alike contest!

SFCO Association and Friends of the Freight members get two tickets for the price of one by showing their membership card at the door.
