Adopted as an infant and raised in New York City, Diana left home at the age of 15 in search of her roots. It wasn't until she was reunited with her birth family (her grandfather was a Tennessee guitar picker) and the music of the Eastern Tennessee hills some years later, that she discovered her true musical voice, a voice that shines through in her original songs. Tonight, Diana spotlights numbers from her third album, the newly released High Atmosphere (Proper), wrenching hearts with her trademark preoccupations: funerals, trapped miners, orphaned children, and natural disasters; there is even a song called, simply, "Poverty."
