Eeeehaw! They're back, folks! It's been a long, dry spell for Hot Club of Cowtown fans, but luckily for us the trio is back together on the road again, with fire in their fingers and a highly acclaimed new CD, Wishful Thinking, under their belts.

Combine the legendary 1930s string jazz sound of violinist Stephane Grappelli and guitarist Django Reinhardt and their Quintet of the Hot Club of France with the western swing strains of their contemporaries, Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, throw in foot-stomping fiddle jigs and reels, and mix it with a hefty dose of pizzazz and a nod toward the darker side of life, and you end up with something approximating a Hot Club of Cowtown performance.

Guitarist Whit Smith, violinist Elana Fremerman, and bassist Jake Erwin offer loving renditions of widely ranging standards and clever originals, all with stellar musicianship, infectious vitality, and superb vocals.
