An evening of lush, evocative music awaits as the Real Vocal String Quartet celebrates the release of their new, eponymous album. Offering an inventive, globally infused take on chamber music, the group combines the magical textures of a string quartet with folk and pop influenced women’s vocals.

Founded by Irene Sazer, an original member of the famed Turtle Island String Quartet, the ensemble offers a stirring mix of genre-hopping originals and arrangements. From Kenyan songs and Brazilian choros to American and Irish fiddle tunes, the group travels the world, voices weaving in and out, with a groove-filled concoction of violins, viola, and cello adding spice to the sound.

Diversely talented violinist, composer, arranger and vocalist, Irene, is joined in the quartet by violinist and violist Dina Maccabee (Aurora Septet, Charming Hostess), cellist Jessica Ivry (Shotgun Wedding), and violinist Alisa Rose (A.J. Roach, Homespun Rowdy).
