The Jazzschool Studio Bands present their first performance of the 2012-13 season. Join some of the Bay Area’s finest young musicians as they perform cutting edge arrangements for large jazz ensemble. Now in their seventh season, the award-winning Jazzschool Studio Bands are advanced-level high school ensembles comprised of some of the San Francisco Bay Area’s top high school musicians. The Jazzschool Studio Bands perform frequently throughout the Bay Area and participate in national jazz festivals and competitions throughout the United States and abroad. The bands have performed at esteemed jazz clubs and festivals including Yoshi’s Oakland, the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Idaho, Next Generation Festival in Monterey, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the Vienne Jazz Festival in France, Umbria Jazz festival in Italy, North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands and Victoria Jazz Festival in Canada.
Jazzschool Institute offers a conservatory program devoted to the study
and performance of jazz and related styles of music, fostering the
artistic development of aspiring professional jazz musicians and
building new audiences to sustain and promote the jazz art form. The
institute integrates a comprehensive, progressive undergraduate
education program taught by world-class musicians and music educators,
preparing the next generation for a fulfilling life in the dynamic world
of the performing arts.
