You could say The Deadly Gentlemen speak bluegrass with a rock and roll accent, creating music that is joyful, playful, and beautiful. Expect three-part harmonies, group shouting, dense rhymes, and an almost rap-like phrasing.
Greg Liszt has toured with Bruce Springsteen and co-founded —and still plays with— Crooked Still. Stash Wyslouch, guitar and vocals, brings a heavy-metal passion for guitar and screaming in perfect harmony. Dominick Leslie, mandolin and vocals, used to be a prodigy, but now he’s just damn good. Sam Grisman, bass and vocals, first learned his father, David Grisman, and fuses traditional bluegrass bass technique with a knack for finding just the right unexpected note. Mike Barnett, fiddle and vocals, started touring at 15 with bluegrass legend Jesse McReynolds and currently tours with the Tony Trischka Band and the David Grisman Quintet.
Free up your Tuesday night, because The Deadly Gentlemen are coming to the Freight to deliver high-energy folk and bluegrass originals with a twist.
