SheSings Concert
SheSings Concert
Every year, the Women's A Cappella Association (WACA) hosts its exciting and engaging SheSings Vocal Festival. The highlight of this weekend-long festival is the Saturday evening SheSings Showcase, which features award-winning, internationally acclaimed groups from near -- local Bay Area groups -- and far. WACA's dedication to diversity reveals itself in the eclectic mix of musical genres these groups celebrate; one Showcase could include anything from contemporary, to folk, to barbershop, to choral music. It's an uplifting, inspiring and thoroughly entertaining evening -- one not to be missed! Stay tuned for our 2018 line-up!
MoonCandy
MoonCandy
"MoonCandy is a live soulful house ensemble that features the inspirational voices & composition of some of the East Bay’s most understated jazz, soul, blues and gospel Singers. MoonCandy is a church without walls... soulful, uplifting and fabulous!"

MoonCandy has been on the Bay Area music scene since 2010, appearing at many local festivals such as: Oakland Pride, The Black Eyed Pea Festival, Yerba Buena Garden Festival, Malcolm X Jazz Fest, The Laurel Street Fair, The Oakland Museum, and headlining at Oakland's Famed The People Party. MoonCandy's most reflective work has been as the musical soundtrack for Nicole Klaymoon's Dance Company the "Embodiment Project," providing original music documenting the struggle of African-Americans, systemic racism, and sexism in America. Their music is in the spirit of the Black church, Jazz, The Freedom Singers, and Disco sensation Sylvester.
MoonCandy creates an environment for survival music to live and thrive through live performance. Using the dance floor as a it's universal synagogue, MoonCandy's inspirational lyrics and transfixing grooves gives birth to a "House Church" where everyone is welcome to dance for love.
Jazz Mafia's Choral Syndicate
Jazz Mafia's Choral Syndicate
Jazz Mafia is celebrating 17 years as the Bay’s premiere Future Music collective and is unveiling one of its newest and most dangerous projects to date; The 35 member Choral Syndicate. This mammoth ensemble is led by Jazz Mafia founder Adam Theis along with one of his main collaborators, Trance Thompson (Crossroads Collective). The Syndicate features such a vast lineup of bandleaders, solo artists and tastemakers, that referring to it as a “Supergroup” would be an understatement. Giving you “Chills down your neck” as well stimulation for your mind: that’s what Jazz Mafia’s Choral Syndicate is about to do.
Honey Whiskey Trio
Honey Whiskey Trio
The Honey Whiskey Trio explores harmony in folk, bluegrass and any melody that catches the ear. Through their powerful, yet sweet harmonies, body percussion, haunting melodies and vitality on stage, Honey Whiskey Trio captivates and moves audiences. These storytellers in song found their roots in vocal jazz, all singing in Pacific Standard Time, CSU Long Beach’s award winning vocal jazz ensemble, though at different times. This foundation in jazz gives Honey Whiskey Trio an inherent flexibility to their sound, allowing them to change and adjust their tone to best fit the mood of each song.
In 2013, after singing together for only 5 months, Honey Whiskey Trio won the Harmony Sweepstakes National Competition, also winning Audience Favorite at both the Regional and National sweepstakes. They have gone on to headline the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival, the Women’s A Cappella Association‘s SheSings Festival, the South Eastern Minnesota A Cappella Festival, open for Manhattan Transfer, and have been featured artists at the FAR-West Folk Festival, the Rogue Valley Roots Festival, the Long Beach Folk Revival Festival, and the Shedd Institute for the Arts. Called “One of the most talented vocal harmony groups performing today” by John Neal, Harmony Sweepstakes executive producer and ”One of the very best arrivals this year on my stage. Solid in every way and fully entertaining” by Bob Stane, of The Coffee Gallery Backstage, Honey Whiskey Trio is a group you don’t want to miss experiencing live.

Divisi
Divisi
On a rainy Friday at 4pm in the fall of 2001, Eight Ladies & A Beau Tie performed for the first time at the University of Oregon’s Erb Memorial Union. Just three months later the Eight Ladies traded in their Beau Tie for ties of their own to become the University’s premier female a cappella group. Divisi, over the past 15 years, has grown from the roots of these original members, united by a common love of music and friendship.
