Experience the magic of the original music of Raz Kennedy. Join us on Thursday, March 14th at Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley for the first ever Raz Kennedy show of original songs written by the singer.

The Raz Kennedy Show III: Some Diff'rent Kinda.......... is an evocative artistic exploration of the many expressions stockpiled in Raz" musical background. This exclusive performance will serve as an insightful celebration of Raz Kennedy’s musical journey as a songwriter and provides a window into his perspective on the need for community, self Inquiry, spiritual life, self love, romantic love and self determination. Conjuring a mosaic of musical styles, Raz Kennedy's repertoire draws from Rock, R&B, Jazz and Theater which exemplifies Raz' varied music influences.

In honor of this debut event, Raz will be joined by an all star musical ensemble featuring Matthew Charles Heulitt on guitar (Sting, Narada Michael Walden, Sammy Hagar), Kai Eckhardt on bass (John McLaughlin, George Brooks, Billy Cobham), Colin Hogan on piano/keyboards (The Hogan Brothers), Hassan Hurd on drums (The Coup) with Sandy Griffith (Celine Dion, Diana Ross, Huey Lewis and The News) and Leah Tysse (Michael Franti, Pete Escovedo, Ashford & Simpson) as background vocalists.

In the realms of vocal performance and singing instruction, Raz Kennedy has created a legacy for over 40 years that rivals the music industry’s finest. Acknowledged as “the premiere vocal coach in the Bay Area” by Narada Michael Walden (multi-platinum Grammy and Emmy winning producer and musician), Raz Kennedy is a veteran music educator, producer, and vocalist devoted to the pursuit of excellence. His eclectic performance credits include serving as a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra and performing as a background vocalist on recordings for many legendary artists, including Whitney Houston and Al Jarreau, as well as on stage for Sting, Rebeca Mauleon, Santana, and Mickey Hart. As an accomplished vocal coach and producer with numerous Gold and Platinum records to his credit, Raz Kennedy has gained the rich experience of working well with thousands of singers.
