British Invasion Guitar
For many of us the British bands of the 1960s were our first major musical love. Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Kinks, the Who, Cream. British guitarists, who were heavily influenced by American blues artists, increased the guitar’s visibility and were the first to be declared “heroes.” In this class we will learn classic songs like Day Tripper, You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away, Wild Horses, You Really Got Me, Can’t Explain, Sunshine of Your Love, Can’t Find My Way Home and many others. We will learn the signature riffs and licks of Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Keith Richards. Participants should have experience playing first position chords and barre chords
