Jimmie Rodgers Songs Workshop
Jimmie Rodgers Songs Workshop
The Jimmie Rodgers workshop will touch on his life and the influences that made his music different than other entertainers of the period .

His embracing of the African American music such as Blues and Jazz as well as string band music.

His style and his enormous popularity and how it influenced other musicians of that time and up to the present.

We'll touch on and give some examples of that music such as Cliff Carlyle, Riley Puckett and how he was probably one of the more copied singers (Gene Autry, Hank Snow, lefty Frizzel to name a few.

We'd like to include some Q & A time, and anyone who would like to sing a few (bring your own instrument !!)

We'll sing some of our favorite songs yodel some, and hopefully interest some more folks that are not that familiar with The Father Of Country Music, Jimmie Rodgers.
