Intro to Cajon Grooves
This beginner/intermediate course will help develop a deeper understanding of the Cajon and it's magnificent journey to become the instrument it is today. Like so many instruments, the Cajon is diverse in its uses and together we will explore some of them by country of origin. Whether a cajon is being played in Africa, South America, Europe or the good ol’ USA, every cajon player needs a healthy approach/technique, from warming up to live performance. Most importantly, we will have fun learning and playing together. This class is for anyone and everyone who wants to know more about this very special instrument we call the Cajon.

Here's a summary of what to expect:
- Group warm ups
- Introduction to simple tone identifying/ hand position technique
- History of the Cajon and its uses
- Learning examples of grooves from different parts of the world
- Learning how to apply and accompany using specific grooves

Note- Students should bring their own instruments (I have one extra cajon to share), recorders, pad/paper, etc.
