Bill Monroe Birthday Celebration
"This September 13, Bill Monroe's birthday, we will be celebrating at the Freight and Salvage by focusing on the eight sides recorded while accordionist Sally Ann Forrester was a member of his band, The Blue Grass Boys.I have always loved these particular recordings, and can hardly wait to re-enact them onstage, with Elise Leavy playing the part of Sally Ann. I am even thinking of baking Bill's favorite cake, an apple stack cake. Come celebrate with us!" - Laurie Lewis

For this year's show, Laurie will be joined by Butch Waller (mandolin), the Godfather of Bay Area Bluegrass and leader of High Country, along with Chad Manning (fiddle), Sharon Gilchrist (mandolin), Tom Bekeny (mandolin), Patrick Sauber (banjo, mandolin), Brandon Godman (fiddle), and Joshua Zucker (bass).
